Border Clashes Force Thousands to Flee Thailand and Cambodia

Thousands of people are fleeing their homes near the Thailand-Cambodia border due to intense fighting. The recent clashes, which began on Thursday, have been described as the deadliest between the two nations in recent times, resulting in at least 34 deaths. Lamun Faithet, a resident of Thailand's Surin province living near the disputed Prasat Ta Muen Thom temple, is among over 131,000 Thai residents evacuated. She expressed shock at the renewed conflict, having experienced a similar situation in 2011, and is now considering permanent relocation. Cambodia has also reported 35,000 people displaced by the fighting.
