Cyprus Wildfires Cause Deaths and Evacuations Amid Heatwave

Sprawling wildfires have erupted in a mountainous region near Limassol, Cyprus, resulting in at least two fatalities and forcing numerous evacuations. The fires, which ignited on Wednesday amid stifling heat and dry conditions affecting Eastern Europe, have consumed approximately 39 square miles, destroying homes and trees. Two individuals were discovered deceased in a burnt-out vehicle, and many others received treatment for respiratory issues.
