Chinese Hackers Target Microsoft SharePoint

Microsoft has reported that Chinese state-sponsored hacking groups, identified as Linen Typhoon and Violet Typhoon, are actively exploiting vulnerabilities in its SharePoint collaboration software. These attacks aim to gain unauthorized access to computer systems. The U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is aware of the situation and has alerted critical infrastructure organizations. The vulnerabilities allow attackers to access SharePoint content, internal configurations, and execute code. Microsoft is collaborating with government agencies and cybersecurity partners on the response. China has previously denied involvement in cyberattacks.
