FuriosaAI partners with LG, opts for growth over Meta acquisition

South Korean AI chip startup FuriosaAI has secured a significant customer by partnering with LG AI Research to supply its RNGD AI chip for the EXAONE platform. This chip is designed to efficiently run large language models (LLMs). The collaboration aims to deploy these AI capabilities across industries like electronics, finance, telecom, and biotech. This development follows FuriosaAI's decision to reject an $800 million acquisition offer from Meta earlier this year, a move attributed to strategic and organizational differences rather than valuation.
