More Children Tested Over Child Abuse Allegations

Australian authorities are recommending infectious disease testing for approximately 800 additional children who attended four childcare centers where a man accused of child abuse had worked. This follows an earlier recommendation for about 1,200 children at 20 centers. The accused, Joshua Dale Brown, faces 70 charges, including child rape, with allegations of abusing eight young children between April 2022 and January 2023. Police added four more centers to the list of his former workplaces after reviewing his employment history. While the risk of exposure is considered low, the nature of the alleged offenses necessitates screening for infectious diseases in some children. Authorities have not disclosed whether Mr. Brown tested positive for any sexually transmitted infections.
