Pioneering MI5 Director General Stella Rimington Dies at 90

Dame Stella Rimington, the first woman to lead Britain's MI5 domestic intelligence agency, has died at the age of 90. Her career at MI5 spanned nearly 30 years, starting as a part-time clerk and culminating in her appointment as Director General in 1992. She was also the first head of the agency to be publicly named and photographed, an effort to increase transparency.
