Uganda and South Sudan clash at border

Ugandan and South Sudanese troops engaged in a border skirmish in South Sudan's Kajo Keji region. South Sudanese officials reported that Ugandan forces, supported by tanks and artillery, initiated the attack. The clash resulted in the deaths of at least eight soldiers, five from South Sudan and three from Uganda. The incident is significant as it marks a rare conflict between these two nations, who have historically been security partners, with Uganda providing military support to the South Sudanese government. The fighting also led to the displacement of over 100 people.
