NTSB Begins Hearings on Fatal DC Plane Crash

Federal investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are commencing public hearings to investigate a midair collision between an Army Black Hawk helicopter and an American Airlines regional jet outside Washington, D.C. The crash, which occurred earlier this year, resulted in the deaths of 67 people and raised concerns about air travel safety. The NTSB has spent six months on the investigation and will hold three days of hearings, beginning today, where aviation safety officials, military leaders, and other involved parties will testify about the events leading up to the incident.
